Updated booking terms

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to affect everyone around the world, we’ve been updating our policies for new bookings. This is so that, when you’re ready, you can feel comfortable letting your wanderlust roam free, without the uncertainties of today stopping you from planning that next life-changing journey.

As we all stay at home in the coming weeks, our travel designers are here to answer your questions and would love to share their favorite China destinations with you. When you are ready to travel again, this is how we’ve updated our policies to give you more flexibility.*

What's new?

  • We've eliminated non-refundable depositsFor bookings made within China: Once you're happy with your itinerary we'll ask you to pay a RMB1,000 deposit per person so we can start making arrangements on your behalf. Your balance payment will be due 20 days prior to your departure. Should any travel restrictions be in place on your travel date, we'll transfer your payments to a later date or refund you in full. If you make a booking less than 20 days prior to your departure date, you may be asked to make one full payment.
  • You can change your travel dates at any point in the booking processWith the elimination of non-refundable deposits, you can be flexible with your travel plans. Any planning fees paid in 2020 will be completely transferrable to future bookings within 12 months of the initial date of departure. If you're not sure if you'll travel within a year, we'll send you a credit voucher that can be used against any WildChina journey in the next three years.**
  • If you decide to postpone, we'll guarantee the same pricesIf you book your trip but decide to postpone for up to one year, we'll maintain the same prices we quoted you when you first confirmed your journey. That means, if prices rise in the subsequent period before you travel, we'll make up the difference.*** If you decide you want to postpone, but don't know until when, that's okay too. We'll send you a credit voucher as noted above.
  • We'll be there with you every step of the wayThis hasn't changed, but it's something we want to emphasize. When you're planning a trip with us, we'll keep you updated with news as it happens. Your safety is our first priority and we will not operate your journey if we are aware of any risks to that. When you land in China, your travel designer and guide – who are currently taking part in refresher courses on risk assessment – will be there to greet you in person. We'll be right there on the end of a phone (if not standing next to you) the whole time to ensure everything about your trip is just as you dreamed it would be.

Terms & Conditions

*For new bookings made in 2020 for 2020 and 2021

**This credit can only be used once. If not all credit is spent in a single transaction, the remaining balance will be forfeited. Any future booking using this credit will be subject to the cancellation policy set out in your proposal documents. This credit is non-transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other WildChina services.

Please note that booking is subject to availability and prices are subject to change for experiences and accommodations up until the point of booking.
